edgebootPro New Firmware Release: 1.5.0-edge-pro

Granite edgebootPro device firmware 1.5.0-edge-pro

Release Notes:

  • Introduced SNMP Agent Mode, allowing users to poll edgebootPro data or receive traps directly into their own monitoring platform
  • Introduced time-based scheduling for AC power ports, allowing users to automatically power down connected equipment during set hours (for example, overnight when a store is closed) with per-port schedules, daily recurrence, and all power changes logged
  • Added ping and traceroute diagnostics that can be run directly from the portal, with selectable source interface, results returned as they resolve, and the ability to cancel a test in progress
  • Added a new interactive troubleshooting tool that automatically detects connected edgeboot+ units and tests AC relays and LEDs, available from the portal under Tools
  • Added a customizable commit & confirm timer so users can choose a 5, 10, 15, or 30 minute window depending on the change being tested, with 10 minutes remaining the default
  • Expanded AI mode so multiple conditions on the same port can be evaluated independently rather than strictly in sequence, giving users more flexibility in how automated actions are triggered
  • Primary Interface now defaults to Wired when a device is claimed, preventing unexpected LTE overages; failover to wired remains on by default and the setting can still be changed at any time
  • Optimized status reporting so devices publish updates when something actually changes rather than on a fixed interval, further reducing LTE usage, lowering latency, and improving portal responsiveness
  • Added new LTE signal metrics and interface MAC addresses to the portal, standardized device event names and descriptions for cleaner exports, and applied the latest security patches to help keep devices protected
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements

We recommend updating your devices to 1.5.0–edge-pro for optimal performance and improved reliability.

Updated Firewall Rules for edgeboot & edgebootPro

These firewall rules apply to both edgeboot and edgebootPro devices. To keep your device running smoothly — including reliable monitoring and firmware updates — please make sure the following rules are whitelisted on your network. If you've already configured these, no action is needed.

Why this matters: These rules allow your edgeboot device to communicate efficiently with edgeboot.io for device monitoring and firmware update delivery.

Firewall Rules to Whitelist:

What to do: Please review this list with your network/IT team and confirm these are allowed through your firewall — for both edgeboot and edgebootPro devices on your network. Skipping this step can result in intermittent connectivity, delayed firmware updates, or monitoring gaps.

New Feature Alert: Speed Tests

Introducing our newest feature enhancement: Speed Tests

You asked, we delivered! 🚀 You can now run Speed Tests straight from your edgeboot or edgebootPro device — no third-party tools needed.

How to run a Speed Test:

  1. Navigate to any device page and click the Tools tab
  2. Select Speed Test from the left menu
  3. Choose your interface (Eth0 or Eth1) from the dropdown
  4. Hit Run to measure throughput of up to 1 Gb/s on your device's WAN interface

⚠️ Note: The selected interface must be configured with a WAN role (not LAN) and must be online to run a speed test.

Once you've run a few tests, click Test History to view previous results and track performance over time.

Speed Test is available for both edgeboot and edgebootPro devices.

Also in the Tools tab: We've consolidated a couple of existing features — Monitoring Endpoints and Network Tables — into the new Tools section so everything is in one easy-to-find place. And this is just the beginning — we'll be adding more powerful tools to this section in the future, so stay tuned! 👀
