edgeboot New Firmware Release: 0.5.1-braavos

Granite edgeboot device firmware 0.5.1-braavos

Release Notes:

  • Introduced a new commit & confirm feature that allows users to test configuration changes (like Ethernet settings) and automatically revert to the previous setup if not confirmed within 10 minutes, helping prevent downtime from unintended network changes
  • Optimized device logging behavior that will increase efficiency and lower LTE usage consumption by over 80%
  • Separated OS and app code versioning so each can be updated independently, allowing faster releases, improved stability, and greater flexibility
  • Fixed an issue where AI mode did not detect profile changes, preventing tickets from opening when Ethernet interfaces went down while LTE remained active.
  • Fixed an issue where health check pings only used available interfaces instead of testing all configured Ethernet interfaces
  • Fixed an issue where system services could lose connection to the LED controller

We recommend updating your devices to 0.5.1-braavos for optimal performance and improved reliability.

  • Optimized health checks and polling behavior that will increase efficiency and lower LTE usage consumption by ~80%
  • Introduced multi-LAN functionality which allows edgebootPro to function with wireless as the primary uplink and both ethernet ports configurable as LAN
  • Enhanced the provisioning process to disable 2G connections on Telit modems, improving network performance and reliability in areas where T-Mobile still operates 2G service
  • Enhanced console management with port status indicators (In-Use/Available), customizable port labels, and SSH connectivity for devices on the local LAN
  • Enhanced MQTT stability to prevent message delivery delays and connection interruptions
  • Enhanced boot reliability to maintain consistent USB serial port assignments across reboots
  • Fixed an issue where AI mode did not generate tickets in scenarios where Ethernet interface(s) were not specified within the Profile
  • Fixed an issue where health check pings only used available interfaces instead of testing all configured Ethernet interfaces
  • Fixed an issue where system services could lose connection to the LED controller
  • Improved log file management and storage reliability

We recommend updating your devices to 1.2.1–edge-pro for optimal performance and improved reliability.

edgeboot Release Notes: Q3 2025

Check out what's new in the latest edgeboot portal release:

feature Seamless Single Sign-On We've integrated with Okta so your edgeboot and G360 accounts now share the same login credentials—making it easier to switch between platforms without managing multiple passwords.

improvement Enhanced Device Groups Capabilities

  • Label what's connected to each port across all your devices at once in the Connected device info tab.
  • Configure IP settings in bulk through the new Configurations tab.
  • See at a glance which tasks completed successfully for each device in the Finished tasks tab.
  • Navigate faster with improved quick links and icons.

feature Dual WAN Monitoring & Control For customers with dual wired connections, you can now monitor each Ethernet interface independently and configure automatic actions—like rebooting devices at the AC power port level—based on which connection needs attention.

feature Multi-LAN for Wireless-Primary Deployments Using edgebootPro with LTE as your primary connection? You can now configure both ETH0 and ETH1 as LAN ports—perfect for unmanned kiosks, ATMs, and vending machines that don't have wired internet available.

improvement Automatic SIM Activation SIM cards now activate automatically during device provisioning, eliminating manual activation steps.

improvement Automatic Site Syncing Sites now sync automatically in edgeboot.io, eliminating the need to manually sync before claiming devices through the portal.

improvement Smarter LTE Signal Monitoring We've refined how we detect LTE connectivity issues. You'll now see a clear "weak signal" warning banner when your LTE connection is having problems, without being overwhelmed by constant online/offline notifications.

fix Fixed an issue where ETH0 was incorrectly locked as LAN on some devices.
